Principal's Message

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year at Parras Middle School. As we embark on this new year, we are excited to implement our new block schedule, with a focus on instructional practices that promote student engagement through rigorous, student-centered lessons. While this marks an important change, our commitment to the core elements that support students in their academic and personal growth remains unwavering.

Academic Success:

We continue to uphold Parras Middle School’s longstanding tradition of academic excellence. Our goal is for students to have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to fully engage with each academic course and to explore new interests throughout their educational journeys and beyond. A rigorous and inclusive learning environment is essential to this goal. Our staff works collaboratively to ensure coursework is aligned with grade-level standards and current research in effective teaching practices that reach all learners.

Social-Emotional Growth:

We are committed to ensuring that everyone in our Parras community feels valued and respected, including students, parents, and staff. Social skills, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and decision-making are vital components of our educational focus. Educators and parents alike play an important role in developing these skills through intentional instruction and by guiding students through challenges as they arise.

Sense of Belonging:

We believe that students feeling connected at school makes all the difference. There are many ways for students to get involved at Parras, including music programs, intramural sports, student-led clubs, robotics, elective courses, leadership groups, and those everyday opportunities to show kindness and support. Each student plays a vital role in making Parras a wonderful place to learn.
